The Lion's Den (Community Lunch)

Leaders: Ruthie Fassnacht and Becky Adams

Due to the current COVID 19 situation, the Lion's Den was closed the month of April. Out of an abundance of caution for both our guests and volunteers, we have decided to remain closed through the month of May. Our hope is to be back serving our homemade lunches to the community in June. Stay safe and God Bless.

Since February 1997, The Lion's Den has been serving hot, nutritious luncheon  to anyone who walks through the doors on Wednesdays from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm.

Meals are free of charge but we gladly accept donations.

In 2018 the Lion's Den served over 8000 meals.

Companies and schools in the Plainfield area may, for an in-kind donation of $5/lunch, receive meals delivered on schedule. This small contribution helps defray the cost of the food prepared and served to the needy or to senior citizens who might not otherwise fix a full meal for themselves. Call 317-450-5568 to arrange for delivery of meals.

Large salads may be substituted for any entrée. Unless noted in the menu, every meal comes with salad, bread, and a tasty dessert.

Would your group or organization like to volunteer to help with our Wednesday Communty Lunch?  For more information please call Ruthie at 317-450-5568 or send us an email at

By request, here's the recipe for The Lion's Den Memphis Style Barbeque and Sauce
